A nice depiction of an old hopeful gold rush man looking for pacer gold!
I really love this image. I was born in Colorado although I didn’t spend much time there from birth till 10 years old when my father got his professorship and was hired at the School of Mines. I used to love going to Central City and Blackhawk before they became gambling towns. My brother and I had daydreams of making a fortune gold panning. It certainly seems silly in retrospect, but I often wish I could return to those hopeful times and simple dreams.
It’s very well done and depicts the history perfect, poor old gold miners worked so hard.
YOu really have an eye for the 2 in one – I would have missed the blue except I knew it had to be there so was looking for it….
Ha! I usually find what I’m looking for. Thanks for stopping by.
Very interesting and evocative mural.
My first thought upon seeing this mural was ,Oh my darlin’ Clementine! I looked up the lyrics. The last verse was one never known to me but gave me a giggle.
“How I missed her! How I missed her
How I missed my Clementine
But I kissed her little sister
I forgot my Clementine”
I wouldn’t trust a guy like that.
Beautiful mural and lovely haiku ~

I absolutely love this painting. Thanks for sharing, otherwise I would never have seen it.
Such a great painting and your haiku takes us all to that moment… of starting the journey home…
Chilly morning… but having gold in his bag must give him a warm feeling! Love the painting! Hug from Holland.
