Glory, Glory

Glory, glory, morning glory, climbing up the wall!
Glory, glory, morning glory, don’t you fear you’ll fall?

High above my head I see you dangling in the air,
While your tendrils grab the gutter and the drainpipe there.

Glory, glory, morning glory, if I were like you,
I suppose I’d climb to places just as lofty too.

Yawning

Morning glory

Wayside morning glory, San Miguel de Allende, Guanajuato, México

at 7 a.m.
even the morning glories
catch themselves yawning

~~ ~~ ~~

in my wooden bowl
a lone dewdrop at daybreak
morning glory tea

~~ ~~ ~~

eccentric garden—
a single morning glory
tangled in my heart
