Wonder

At Border Field State Park photo BorderFieldsSPbloom_zps49033ad5.jpg
Seaside flora can be seen at Border Field State Park, Southern California.

One crimson blossom—
I stop to kneel in wonder,
lost in love and praise.

Follow

Version 2
A path leads to distant mountains in California’s Anza-Borrego Desert State Park.

Hearing a blackbird
sing on the misty mountain,
I follow its voice.

Lonely Place

A blush spreads across the sky at day’s end in Anza-Borrego Desert State Park, Southern California.

In this lonely place,
where will you rest for the night,
weary little dove?

Desert Abundance

Version 2
Anza-Borrego Desert State Park, Southern California.

In a desert place
a twisted, broken willow
murmurs to the stars.

~~~ ~~~ ~~~
The desert’s abundance may not be in fruit,
But rather in clouds or in owls that can hoot,
Or maybe in rattlers that slither and slide,
Or in the great thermals on which the hawks glide.
The stones are abundant, and so is the sand
Wherever you look in a dry, barren land.
It’s not as though nothing filled up the spaces
In the world’s wild and desolate places!
Blue Monday: No Geese in the Sky
DSC_0238
Anza-Borrego Desert State Park, Southern California.
There aren’t any geese in the sky,
There’s only a cloud flying by—
A beautiful day
To work or to play
Or maybe to get some shuteye!
