“Charity begins at home,”
(So some people say.)
But no matter where I roam,
Kindness comes my way.
Often from a stranger’s hand
I receive a boon,
Something I had never planned,
Something opportune.
When these unexpected perks
Chance to come my way,
I know charity’s at work,
And is here to stay.
