Senryu: Triple Treat

She will baffle me
as she always does—the whore
with her wily ways.
 
~~ ~~ ~~
 
elegant the whore
tripping down the ballroom stairs
in golden slippers
 
~~ ~~ ~~
 
Though I murmur love,
the whore will negate my words—
one resounding slap.

    A tight and evocative haiku triptych. Imagery is strong and relevant, not easily achieved in sparsity.
