Someone needs some water in this thirsty land.
 
Who will help the stranger out of her distress?
Who will offer comfort in the wilderness?

Cabin

In the cabin walls
something purrs by day and night—
a leftover dream.
 
~~ ~~ ~~
 
In the cabin walls
nasty little creatures hide,
scrabbling in the dark.
 
~~ ~~ ~~
 
cabin by the way—
kneeling before the threshold
a weary pilgrim
 
~~ ~~ ~~
 
in the cabin walls
a desiccated silence
wheezing tales of woe
