In what direction
should I go today? Fancy
not knowing the way!

Watery Wednesday: Water Wheel
Sing a song of lumber,
Coming from the mill,
Lumber for new houses,
Built upon a hill.
Sing a song of lumber,
Fresh and fragrant green,
Lumber from the sawmill
With a forest sheen.
Sing a song of lumber
For Chemainus town;
Hear the hammers pounding
Up the streets and down.

If these craft could talk,
what tales they’d tell of sailing
around the island!
