  8. I remember visiting Wupatki – there *is* an eeriness there, a sense of the overpowering and immense. I can hear her wailing.

  13. Earlier this year I was in Arizona and visited some cliff dwellings. The sense of history and of the people who lived in these places is certainly there and your haiku conveys that so well.
