Six Takes on ‘Happiness’

original

put pen to paper
happiness flowing across
and between the lines

~~~ ~~~ ~~~
the chance to dally
over toast and black coffee—
morning happiness
~~~ ~~~ ~~~

My bedroom window
opens to Happiness Lane—
children are blooming.

~~~ ~~~ ~~~
These malign spirits
know nothing of happiness—
sweep them out the door!
~~~ ~~~ ~~~

When the elders come,
they will bear in ripened hands
fruits of happiness.

~~~ ~~~ ~~~
heavy with harvest
seven plums of happiness
hanging in my heart
