another page of Kafka
served up for dessert

still trying to get sober
after last night’s bash

tear stains on an old letter
read a thousand times

content to cling to folly
only for an hour

the monastery garden
overrun with fleas

Sunday afternoon
meditating on the way
even pests evolve

    This sounds like a bit of a testing Sunday afternoon….personally we would choose ice cream for dessert not Kafka…he can be a bit of a mouthful…clinging onto folly? Can be good at times perhaps…mine sticks like glue to my shoe 🙂

    And they Sunday is a day of rest! I must say rather have kulfi (Indian ice cream) for desert than Kafka!

    So many shades of a Sunday afternoon — from the tragic to the comic. The first reminds me of Simon & Garfunkel’s “Danging Conversation” — and the fleas are oh-so-Issa. 🙂

    Very well composed series MMT … I have read this series several times and every time I was hit by the third haiku … I love to use that haiku for one of our upcoming Tan Renga Challenges if that’s ok?
