Scintillating music

scintillating music
carries her into most nights
with a flagrant disregard
for what her neighbors think
a leap of faith
that’s how she found her way
and it dawns on her
each time she prays late at night
that the spill that might have happened
did not
the end that might have come
did not
the leap that might have killed her
did not
she knows she owes everything
to that leap
and is not nonchalant
but
grateful

  1. I am glad the leap was not an end and that she dances

  2. Such a whirlwind of emotion, your poem, I held my breath as I read on!

  3. Belief in yourself and trust in someone else would have helped I am sure.

Lovely… Scintillating for sure – love that and the use of leap throughout – lifted my soul today… Thank you…

  5. That was one great leap! I was bouncing in my chair. Nice one.

  6. Best way to accept the adventure called life: with gratefulness

    Happy Sunday

    Much love…

  7. What an excellent poem.

  8. I like it all!!! The contrast is so interesting, thought provoking.

  9. following heart, a leap of faith and being grateful…what more do we need?

  10. Happy ending for the leap of faith. YAY! Good write.

  11. I LOVE this one, and I resonate!

  12. Haha… Yup! Good one! I feel the same way 😉

  13. Rosemary Nissen-Wade

Beautifully executed … and yet, it hints at a back story that makes me curious.

  14. Like Rosemary, I would like to know more. Why was she leaping? Did she leap to try to escape? And how did it save her in the end?

It’s one of those stories where the reader is at liberty to fill in the details!

  15. This cactus appears to be stuck with toothpicks. Poor thing. Dangerous. Would certainly make you leap if you stepped into it.

  16. Lovely poem. I love when after leaping, I land on my feet.

  17. A leap of faith… yes it can save you most times!

  18. She bit the bullet and it worked out. Excellent use of the words.
