O battered Guadalupe,
What is there to celebrate?
Your gown’s reduced to tatters
Even as you watch and wait.
 
Yet in your loving presence
We find mercy, peace and grace,
For there’s unending sunshine
In your weather-beaten face.

    how does she do this? look even more beautiful and compassionate in her brokenness? she is my teacher as i decline to see wholeness even as i diminish physically. thank you for this gorgeous poem for our queen of the angels!
