Three Aphorisms
I.
Watch the dog leaping and learn from the monk;
Not all meditation needs to be junk.
II.
Cowardice protects you when the tigers come:
Jump the paddock wall, my friend, and run like hell, just run!
III.
Those who sit together and those who sit apart,
Know that sitting shiva is a quiet art.

I love the quiet art of writing poetry and reading poetry. Cheers.
Often we learn a lot more by observing don’t we? As for the tiger; I am counting on me being too thin to interest him…how about you?
Such wonderful depth and wisdom in those last lines! ❤️
Ah, sometimes it is wise to be a ‘coward’ and just RUN!
three cleaver aphorisms thank you..bkm
I like all these, and especially the second.
Each of these is just perfect. I could see it all – especially jumping the wall!
I do love aphorisms… and of course it’s wise to be a coward sometimes…
All these are true, clever and fun to read. Enjoyed so much.
The first two lines made me laugh, the last two left me nodding…
I love these wise little Aphorisms! Very cool!
I imagine finding these in fortune cookies! Not your average fortune!
Great idea! I’m ready to start a fortune-cookie company!
