Yesterday, I did a little yardwork in our gorgeous Arizona weather, and displayed several collected desert rocks in a new and distinctive location…I’m lovin’ your sentiments here… Great Haiku!
I guess those lullabies are soothing !!!
Ancient indeed…I thought it might have been a shell fragment.
lovely!
What? Are they old rock songs?
i have a friend who reached into her potato bag to make her irish stew and pulled out one that looked exactly like a heart shaped rock.
today your stone looks so much like a potato.
(well i could be influenced by Guinness stout and the luck of the irish!)
What a creative post with beautiful photo and delightful haiku ~ Enjoy ^_^
{{ my dearest mmt,
i am so thank*full
for my own sea*side sands
as
if i did not have them
with their Free Shells for the Taking,
i would be Green with Envy
over your desert photos
with those Wish-Upon, magical rocks & stones …
i am just saying …
xoxox }}
Envy would get you nowhere, my dear!
That’s a beautiful rock!
Shadow Shots
Your comment is always appreciated.
this is just wonderful.. i marvel at your ability to always step outside the box ^^
This is another great find in your ‘sand/desert’ series!
What secrets they could tell
Beautiful, another great desert haiku.
For a moment I thought it was a shell…. I love the quote you have chosen.
Mollyxxx
Fantastic – it looks like a mini Uluru!
Even some desert stones see some water somewhen. [I added the first some
] I like the barrenness (also the Baroness). Nice Haiku.
Alas, no baroness(es) in the USA!
Our history caught in the ancient knowledge of stones and pebbles. Awesome photo MMT and a really wonderfully composed haiku.
a water-worn oddity, your ancient stone…memories of a valley stream
paradise music
arid memories of
classic rock
Cheers!
JzB
It is so enjoyable to visit late, so as to enjoy your comments JzB
Man that thing looks so smooth. Must have been through a lot.
You must be well acquainted with paradise and from the sound of the lullaby your poem sings, it must be a peaceful place.
23:6
those ancient stones! how much do they know!
Just beautiful!
Beautiful photo and haiku.
Ah how wonderful those stones sing.. I watched a program about Sahara… and there the sand sings as the wind blows. The friction between the grains make it sing.
First of all, amazing rock in that photo. It does appear ancient. Where the valley stream once ran? Beautiful haiku.
