  1. Your state suffered so from the fires. You were out of harm’s way, yes? I saw how close it got to Sedona and the lives lost. Sending prayers and healing energy. Beautiful melancholy haiku.

  2. The display of fortitude in nature leaves one breathless! Whether flood or drought, life is so tenacious and you caught that in your poem!Courage Under Fire

  3. Such timing as with drought come great fires. So pleased to hear you are not in harms way my friend 🙂
    Fortitude

  4. Glad you are safe. We see such fires here in Southern Spain mostly burning with pine trees. It is nature’s way of renewal but truly frightening and sometimes people have to be evacuated from their homes.

  5. Beautifully haunting, MMT. Glad you are safe 🙂

  6. fortitude is needed for humans too, yes? I pray every day for the extremes in weather our country is experiencing from floods to fires. such sadness; prayers are needed for the families of the firemen who died.
how close is this to your area? stay safe.

Far enough away that there is no danger whatever. But that doesn’t lessen my sadness about my “neighbors,” who perished.

  7. Glad to hear you are safe… but its a great sadness.. news here are filled too.
