Beside the Watercourse

Wellton wash

And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.
Psalm 1:3, King James Version

A watercourse, Sonoran Desert near Wellton, Arizona

When you bring forth fruit,
tree beside the watercourse,
desert sands rejoice.

  1. Amazing shot!Have a great weekend!

  2. This made me think about how we use water, and how nature uses it. Both have the constant need. Nature seems to appreciate it more and uses it more wisely. I’ll try to remember not to take it for granted.

  5. another beautiful and stark desert pic…..Is that what is known as a wash? And is that a fruit tree of some kind? The desert-scape is so interesting to this northeast US dweller…..

It’s not a fruit tree in the sense that it bears apples or plums, but it does bear seeds for wildlife to feed upon. And, yes, that is a wash. Thanks so much for your visits!

  12. I read scripture all the time but sometimes it takes a photo and a haiku to bring its message home. Thanks for this.

  13. Those colors are absolutely mystical and magical! Would I find them like that if I walked that wash myself?
